An architectural plan to restore the Site believed to be the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as part of the largest ever expansion of the Grand Mosque in Makkah is ready for implementation. A library called "Makkah Library," which was built in 1951 in line with an order issued by King Abdulaziz, is situated right above the site. Authorities have made necessary changes in the architectural plan of the Haram expansion Project so as to preserve the historic site, according to a report in Makkah daily.
