Orange Is the New Black star Diane Guerrero broke down into Tears While recounting her Parents' Deportation back to Colombia during a recent interview on CNN. The actress, who plays Maritza Ramos in the hit Netflix ******, was just 14 when her parents and older brother Eddie were suddenly taken away While she was at school. (Diane was born in the US so she was never under threat of being deported herself.) "It was really hard. That was really hard," Diane said, explaining that she had to fend for herself after her family was taken away. "**t a single person at any level of government took any **te of me," she wrote in an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times. "** one checked to see if I had a place to live or food to eat, and at 14, I found myself basically on my own." Diane, who also volunteers at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, is hoping that by sharing her story she might raise awareness about how the Deportation process separates families.
