Could ex-Beatle Paul McCartney be planning his third wedding?
</p>SIR Paul McCartney presented an award at the glitzy annual Golden Globes ceremony as rumours spread that he Could be tying the knot for the third time. Sir Paul and girlfriend, American businesswoman Nancy Shevell, were also seen in public but at a different movie awards event in Los Angeles on Friday. The Golden Globes, held last night, are considered to be Hollywoodâ??s second most important awards event behind the Oscars. According to unconfirmed reports, the former Beatle proposed to Ms Shevell during a New Year holiday in Barbados. At 67, Sir Paul is 19 years Ms Shevellâ??s senior. Rumours of the engagement come less than two years after Sir Paulâ??s high-profile divorce from charity campaigner Heather Mills, which followed an acrimonious separation in 2006. It is thought Sir Paul will make public his intentions in the next few weeks. His brother Mike, who lives in Wirral, said he Could not confirm whether the rumours were true as he had not heard from Sir Paul. Describing Nancy as a â??nice girl,â?* he said the two brothers and their families spent Christmas together but no mention of any impending engagement was made then. Since they started dating in the summer of 2007, Sir Paul and New York-born Nancy have been seen several times together in public. Speculation that he intended to wed the US haulage heiress began soon afterwards. If they were to wed, Ms Shevell would become Sir Paulâ??s third wife, after his divorce from Heather Mills and the sad loss of his first wife Linda. Friends and family are said to be delighted with the match, even Sir Paulâ??s daughter Stella, who was against his second marriage. Ms Shevell and her first husband, lawyer Bruce Blakeman, were divorced last month after a year apart. They have one 18-year-old son and the divorce was amicable. Ms Shevellâ??s family runs a trucking business which operates from New Jersey. The family of Sir Paulâ??s first wife, Linda, who died of breast cancer in 1998, are also said to have also given the union their blessing. Sir Paulâ??s previous wife, Heather Mills, was awarded a آ£24.3m settlement after their divorce was finalised in 2008. They have one daughter, Beatrice, now aged six. Sir Paul had three children from his 29-year marriage to Linda â?? Mary, Stella, and James. He also adopted Lindaâ??s daughter Heather.
