John Bishop carries Olympic Torch to top of radio tower
</p> *Follow our Olympic Torch Relay live blog from 8.30am today MERSEYSIDE comedy star John Bishop used the Olympic Torch to try and communicate with other worlds as the symbol of the games made its way through Cheshire. The funnyman was at Jodrell Bank Observatory, Macclesfield, where he took the flame to the top of one of the largest radio telescopes on the planet. The Liverpool-born comedian, who grew up in Winsford, braved the rain to climb to the top of the 80ft dish where he held the Torch aloft before describing the experience as â??windy, wet and scaryâ?*.
