افتراضي Rebecca Black Says She Hasn?t Given Up On Her Music Career

It’s been almost a decade since Rebecca Black became an overnight sensation with the track ‘Friday’. And ever since then she has been the subject of cruel parody upon cruel parody, mocking the video and its content.

Earlier this week the singer came out to mark the ninth year since its release and opened up about the impact it had on her mental health.

But despite the ridicule she has suffered, the 22-year-old Says she still hasn’t Given up on enjoying a successful Music Career – and last year even released a new track called ‘Sweetheart’.<em/>

Speaking to Good Morning America, Black said: “The one thing that has never let me down and throughout my entire life and journey has been there for me is music.

“It has been there for me at my hardest times, and it’s been there from the worst times. Whether it be people I love to listen to or really mainly writing my own Music and learning to find my voice in that world, has just, I mean, it literally like saved my life.”

Black, who was just 13 years old when ‘Friday’ came out, went on to say that despite all the pain it had caused, it has taught her what is most important in life.

She said: “If there’s one thing that this whole experience of going viral and having ‘Friday’ be what it was, it’s that I have experienced such extreme emotions.

“And turning that into something that hopefully will help someone else feel either more connected to who they are or relate to somebody else and feel a little bit less alone… that’s all I’m trying to do.”

This interview comes after the popstar took to Instagram to tell fans about how that song had changed her life forever.

Above all things, I just wish I could go back and talk to my 13-year-old self who was terribly ashamed of herself and afraid of the world.

“To my 15-year-old self who felt like she had nobody to talk to about the depression she faced. To my 17-year-old self who would get to school only to get food thrown at her and her friends. To my 19-year-old self who had almost every producer/songwriter tell me they’d never work with me.

“Hell, to myself a few days ago who felt disgusting when she looked in the mirror!

“I’m trying to remind myself more and more that every day is a new opportunity to shift your reality and lift your spirit. You are not defined by any one choice or thing. Time heals and nothing is finite.

“It’s a process that’s never too late to begin. And so, here we go! This might be a weird thing to post but the honesty feels good if nothing else.”
