Lime Pictures to produce three more series of award-winning reality show TOWIE
</p>Liverpool production company Lime Pictures confirmed it will make three more series of BAFTA award-winning The Only Way is Essex. The hit reality entertainment series is now in pre-production for series 11 and will return to ITV2 next month. Series 12 is expected to go into production in the summer and series 13 will complete this autumn. Derek McLean, head of non- scripted programming at the Childwall-based production company, said: â??Weâ??re thrilled that ITV have once again committed to three series of TOWIE within a year. “This reaffirms their commitment to the show and also ensures TOWIE has an all-year round presence on the channel, allowing Lime Pictures to continue producing the series for our audience as a live-in-soap.â?* The show began in 2010 and was the first constructed reality series of its kind in the UK. It is still the most popular show of its kind, with an average of 1.4million viewers tuning in. It transmits within days of being filmed, allowing the story to follow the lives of its Essex-based cast in real time. The audience watch the drama unfold on screen within days of it happening and can interact with the cast immediately on social media.
