A Royle Family reunion in Liverpool as stars return to city to film TV dramas

</p> IT’S A Royle Family reunion as Sheridan Smith, Ralf Little and John Henshaw have all begun filming in the city.

Ralf Little, who played Anthony in the hit series, has been filming in Garston and Speke for Our Zoo, the new six-hour drama telling the true story of the Mottershead Family who opened Chester Zoo in 1931.

Sheridan, who played Anthony’s girlfriend Emma, is appearing as Cilla Black in ITV1’s new three-part drama about the Scottie Road singer.

John, who played Emma’s dad Roger in the comedy, is back on familiar ground, this time playing Cilla’s dad John White in the production.

BBC1’s six-hour drama Our Zoo is set in 1929 and looks at George Mottershead and his Family as they realised their dream of a zoo without bars.

The Mottershead Family bought Oakfield Manor in Upton by Chester for آ£3,500 in 1930.

It used moats and ditches as an alternative to cage bars and extended their use throughout the zoo.

Both programmes are expected to be on screen this autumn.
