Harry Potter-Inspired Game In Development At ?Stardew Valley? Publisher
If you’re a fan of Stardew Valley – and let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy a relaxing bit of farming/romancing the locals when you have a spare hour – you may be interested to learn that its publishers, Chucklefish, are currently working on a very witchy new game. Previously going by the working title Spellbound, the new project is now confirmed as Witchbrook, and is an isometric RPG inspired by the world of Harry Potter. While, yes, there will be some similarities to Stardew Valley, the Game will have a much more magical feel. Set in a magic school, you’ll play as a student whose goal it is to graduate and earn your Witching Permit. Farming is replaced by questing and these will allow you to unlock and learn new skills along the way.  Witchbrook (formerly Spellbound) / Credit: Chucklefish The gameplay summary reads as follows: “Witchbrook is intended to be both relaxing and rewarding, providing the player with enjoyable, mindful activities whilst ensuring a sense of progression. Players should feel attached to the various characters they meet at school and to the progression as a student.”Students and teachers will have daily routines, the Game will have a day and night cycle, and you’ll be encouraged to interact with various NPCs as you progress. The school provides the backdrop for a number of player activities, including distractions such as fishing and herb gardening, schoolwork-based main quests, and side quests such as social activities and dating. This changes constantly and shouldn’t be seen as a confirmation of any features or even of the overall direction of the game. Chucklefish CEO and lead designer Finn Brice – Tiy on Twitter – has been incredibly upfront about this and has even shared the design document in a tweet for those that are curious as to how the Game is coming along.
