Coleen Rooney Jeans for Genes
</p>WAG Coleen Rooney and Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna are amongst the handful of celebrities who have signed up to encourage people to support Jeans for Genes this year. Both Coleen and Gemma are seen in the Jeans for Genes 2014 Limited Edition t-shirt. The t-shirt’s design was chosen by a panel of judges, and Littlewoods designer Coleen was one of the nine fashion experts to make the final decision on the design of the top. Both Coleen and Gemma who are known for their love of being glamorous, have stripped back their looks and posed in minimal make-up and casual hair do’s in preparation for this year’s Jeans for Genes day on Friday 19th September 2014. Gemma Merna, who plays Carmel in Hollyoaks tweeted her support for the campaign saying, “Buy this @JeansforGenes charity tee & support children with genetic disorders.” Jeans for Genes teamed up with the Edinburgh College of Art and asked students to design something which would be stylish, appealing, and a must have item for a wardrobe. This year’s chosen design created by Rachel Hill, was inspired by the double helix that exist in genetics and the birds symbolise hope and freedom, showing the positive impact Jeans for Genes has on people’s lives. Last year’s winning design was modelled by Liverpool’s Spice Girl, Melanie C who showed her support for the campaign in 2013. The t-shirt is available to purchase online at Jeans for Genes’ website.
