Ray Quinn visits Alder Hay to bring smiles to young patients? faces
</p>Singer Ray Quinn paid a visit to see sick youngsters at Alder Hey. The 26-year-old dad spent time with the children being treated at the hospital and revealed he too had been helped by staff there when he was a tot. He said: â??When I was a baby I was really ill, I had meningitis and I was saved by doctors there. â??For me, going back, itâ??s sad seeing other patients in there, but I know that thereâ??s a great team of people working there and everyone is really well looked after.â?* Childwall-raised Rayâ??s mum Val also used to work at Alder Hey as a cleaner. </p>  Singer and actor Ray Quinn pays a visit to the children at Alder Hey hospital. Seen here chatting to Cerys Cameron The X Factor and Dancing on Ice star, who has a little boy Harry with actress wife Emma, has spent the last few days in the city where he grew up, also dropping in to The Grace Academy to encourage young stars of the future. He will return at the end of the month for a special gig at the Cavern Club where he will perform songs from his new EP Old Soul, young Blood on October 31. Ray said: â??The evening is going to be about 90 minutes of music and Iâ??ll have a fantastic support act, Simon James, who is an amazing acoustic artist.â?* Finally, the performer will return in December to play the title role in the Empireâ??s panto spectacular, Aladdin, appearing alongside new mum Claire Sweeney, Roy Brandon, Leanne Campbell and ECHO columnist Pete Price.
