Spider-Man?s Tom Holland reveals why he is ?taking a break? from Instagram

Spider-Man star Tom Holland has revealed that he’s taken a step back from Instagram as it was “taking over” his life.

The Marvel actor has been quite prominent on social media, and while he hasn’t deleted his Instagram profile â?? that’s still very much online â?? the star confirmed in a new interview that he is taking a break.

“I don’t have Instagram right now,” Tom told E! News. “I just had to get away from it and take a break.

“It was taking over my life, and I was becoming obsessed by it. Like, ‘How many likes did I get?’ and ‘What did people say about my picture?’ and who’s doing this and who’s doing that. I found myself focusing more on my Instagram life than I was on my real life.”

He continued: “And now that I’ve taken a step back and I’ve started to focus on Tom and the future of what Tom is gonna be, I have â?? I’m talking about myself in the third person, I sound like such a dick, but you know what I mean. I’m just working on myself, and I feel really great for it.”

Meanwhile, Tom has opened up about his upcoming Uncharted movie, and revealed how it differs to other video game adaptations.

“I think what Uncharted offers [that] most video game films don’t [is] that it’s an origin story to the games,” he explained. “So if you played the games, you haven’t seen what’s going to happen in the film.

“And if you haven’t played the games, you’re going to enjoy the film because it’s information that everyone else is getting at the same time. But I’m super excited to make that movie and it’s been a long time coming.”

Spider-Man: Far from Home is available to pre-order on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. A third Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland has a release date of July 16, 2021.
