Liverpool legend Jan Molby: ?I see what the money means to the children and it?s got

</p>Liverpool legend Jan Molby has faced some challenges over the years as a professional footballer and manager, but his London to Paris bike ride for Claire House has to be one of the toughest.

Janâ??s impending two wheel challenge will see him cover nearly 500km (about 300 miles) over four days with friends Peter Kirkham and John Robinson, who are also fundraising for the children’s hospice.

The four day challenge will see Jan begin his journey in London where he will endure the 75 mile trip to Calais, France. Day two will take in 78 miles from Calais to Arras, and day three will see him pedal 75 miles to Compiegne.

His final leg of his charity challenge will take in 70 miles to Paris, finishing under the Eiffel Tower.

Jan, 52, said â??As a sportsman you set yourself a goal and you focus all of your efforts on achieving it.

“I see firsthand what the money means to Claire House and the difference it makes to childrenâ??s lives and that has kept me peddling through the wet and windy training sessions.”

The former Denmark midfielder, who made over 200 appearances in a 12-year career with the Reds, wants to raise آ£5,000 for the Bebington hospice.

He adds: â??I am looking forward to the challenge, to testing myself, and to finishing in Paris. But more importantly I am looking forward to raising as much money as I can to support Claire House.

During an illustrious 12 year career at Liverpool, the midfielder earned his legend status by being part of the team that won three football league first division titles, three FA Cups, one League Cup and four Charity Shield medals.

Moving to Liverpool from a stint in Ajax in 1984 Jan settled on the Wirral where he has lived for the past 31 years and, having fundraised considerably over the years, is now a patron of Claire House.
