John Bishop waxwork to be unveiled at Madame Tussauds next week
</p> John Bishop is set to come face to face with his own wax figure next week. The Liverpool comedian was captured smiling in his trademark casual on-stage pose, and will take up residence by the sea at Madame Tussauds Blackpool. John, 48, will be in the company of British comedic greats such as the two Ronnies, Russell Brand and Alan Carr. To capture the uncanny likeness of John, thousands of measurements were taken, from the width of his waist to the length of his ears. It took expert sculptors several months to painstakingly mould, sculpt and perfect the wax figure. John says: â??I couldnâ??t believe it when I got the call â?? I thought one John Bishop would have been enough for the public. â??Itâ??s a real honour.â?* </p>  John Bishop gets measured The waxwork is dressed in suit donated by John, one that he wore during his UK tour last year. Madame Tussauds Blackpool general manager Matthew Titherington says: â??Thereâ??s been an overwhelming demand for a wax figure of John from the general public. â??Heâ??s charmed his way into the hearts of the nation through his unique storytelling of day-to-day life at gigs, TV appearances and charity work. â??We canâ??t wait to unveil his new figure as heâ??ll take up residence next year. We know heâ??ll be popular with our visitors.â?* John has firmly established himself as a king of comedy following the hugely successful first series of The John Bishop Show on BBC One. Heâ??s had numerous sell out UK tours, best-selling DVDs and a chart topping autobiography How Did This All Happen?, which was published in 2013.
