Cilla Black: Town hall flag to fly at half mast as book of condolences opens in her m

</p> Liverpool Town hallâ??s flag is flying at half mast in tribute to Cilla Black today as a book of condolences opens in her memory.

Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Tony Concepcion will launch the book at 10.30am at the Town hall, where it will then be available for people to sign until 5pm today, and from 9am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday.

Tributes have continued to pour in this morning to Cilla, who was confirmed to have died at her holiday home in Spain yesterday.

Cllr Concepcion said: â??Cilla was an iconic figure who came from a humble Liverpool background to become a true legend in entertainment.

â??It is difficult to think that she will never grace our TV screens again. She will be sadly missed.â?*

A host of friends, colleagues and admirers have so far paid tribute to the star, who enjoyed a career of more than 50 years in showbusiness, including close friend Paul Oâ??Grady, Sir Cliff Richard, Pete Price and Beatlesâ?? stars Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

It is understood Cillaâ??s son, Robert, was holidaying with her in Spain.

A Spanish police spokeswoman said the force was awaiting autopsy results but added that at this stage she was thought to have died from natural causes.
