BBC Radio presenter compares tributes to Cilla to those left for Jimmy Savile

</p> A BBC Radio presenter has been criticised for comparing tributes to Cilla Black to posts about paedophile Jimmy Savile.

Radio 6 music host Liz Kershaw took a pop at those honouring the national treasure after she died on Saturday.

She branded journalists â??lazyâ?* for reporting her death and then went on to compare the tributes to those left for paedophile Jimmy Savile.

She said: â??When Savile died I was aghast & disgusted @ celebs who knew him yet trotted out tributes for their own publicity. Here we go again…â?*

In a bizarre Twitter rant the presenter also took a swipe at Cillaâ??s move to Surrey.

She said: â??Seems Free Speech has died. Cilla loved Liverpool so much she lived in Surrey and Spain.â?*

As well as ranting about Cilla, Liz decided to have a swipe at popular Liverpool tourist attraction The Cavern Club.

â??Lazy media using The Cavern Club as a backdrop. It was bulldozed in the 70s! This is just a theme park!â?*

The building, which is a replica of where Cilla was first discovered, was built on the site of the original and reportedly used 15,000 bricks retrieved from the original club.

Yesterday tragic details of the starâ??s death were revealed after Spanish police made the unusual move to publish the 10 page post mortem report about her death.

It revealed that Cilla had fallen and hit her head, causing a rare form of stroke.

Her son and manager, who was in another part of the house at the time of the accident, found her and raised the alarm, however it was too late and nothing could be done to save her.

It said: â??The most likely hypothesis is that being on the terrace, for some reason – loss of balance, stumble – she falls backwards, upturning the table she has near to her and hitting her head on the wall.â?*
