Gangster drama Peaky Blinders to film in Liverpool?s Welsh streets
</p> Stars of hit show Peaky Blinders will be filming in the Welsh streets area of Toxteth this weekend. A new round of road closures will be taking place in Liverpool as filming continues on the third series of the BBC TV series. A number of key locations on both sides of the River Mersey have already been used to double as mid-1920s Birmingham, where the gritty drama is set. They include the Seacombe ferry terminal , Port Sunlight, and the Blue Coat School(see pictures of all locations in the gallery above ). Now cast and crew will be moving to new locations in the Welsh streets area this weekend. </p>  Actor Cillian Murphy who plays gang boss Thomas Shelby was spotted with the crew of the popular Gangster drama at Port Sunlight, by ECHO reader Christopher Smith This will require road closures on Powis Street, between High Park Street and South Street, and South Street, from Rhiwlas Street to Madryn Street. Then, between January 5 and 8, producers will move to Rodney Street, from Mount Street to Upper Duke Street, and Mount Street, from Pilgrim Street to Rodney Street. Signed diversions will be in place, but access will be maintained for residents and businesses. Roads will be re-opened if filming finishes early. Producers previously picked Liverpool for series one and two, with locations including Stanley Dock, Powis Street and Rodney Street. The costume drama is about rival gangs in Birminghamâ??s underworld. Its star Cillian Murphy plays Tommy Shelby, the ruthless boss of the Peaky Blinders gang â?? named after the practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps.
