People Are ?Surfing? And ?Canoeing? On A Flooded Road In Leeds
If you live in the UK, then the chances are it’s p***ed down where you are today. But in Leeds, it sounds like some People are making the best of a bad situation, namely by ‘surfing’ and ‘canoeing’ down Flooded roads.  Lovely day for it. Credit: Facebook/Leeann Lally West Yorkshire Police actually confirmed they were aware of the water sports going on in the area in a tweet, advising People not to call 999 if they come across some sort of street paddler.We are aware that Geldard Road in #Leeds is flooded. We are also aware of the male with his self made dinghy having a little paddle. No need to ring 999. #Not999Leeann Lally also posted a photo on Facebook of somebody canoeing down a Flooded Road in the city, but sadly we only have written reports of surfing as of yet. I for one would like to see exactly how these Yorkshire folk are managing to surf, you know, given the lack of waves and that. There are People near where I live canoeing and surfing on a Flooded road. Ah, Leeds.Similar urban water sports are taking place Down Under, after flash floods affected many communities in New South Wales. Footage of the man’s flash flood shenanigans went viral, dividing opinion in doing so. On the one hand, one person said: “I’d be p***ed if the wake from his Jet-ski pushed water into my car/business/house.” Another added: “What a d***head.” Yet others were more positive, as one person wrote: “What an absolute icon.” Another commented: “This is amazing.” Can’t please ’em all, eh? Credit: Reddit/AlexMontgom One man who definitely has a ‘what a d***head’ interpretation of the man’s shenanigans is New South Wales Emergency Services Minister David Elliott, who slammed the jet skier’s ‘boofhead behaviour’.No, I don’t know what a boofhead is, but I’m guessing it isn’t something you should aspire to be. According to ABC, Mr Elliott said: “That says to me the community is just not taking seriously some of the warnings that have been issued. “With this sort of boofhead behaviour, we’re not going to tolerate it as far as the police are concerned. “I would appeal to the community to be very conscious of the fact that drains, rivers and any number of pieces of infrastructure will be challenged over the course of this flood activity and, of course, that’s been made even worse by the king tides.” No doubt if Mr Elliott was Leeds Emergency Services Minister, he wouldn’t be happy with the street-surfing boofheads here.
