?Kingdom Come: Deliverance? Is Free On PC Next Week

Strap on your best suit of armour and fetch your noblest steed from the stables, because Kingdom Come: Deliverance is Free on PC Next week. The Epic Games Store has announced that Warhorse Studios’ popular medieval RPG is one of the storefront’s Free titles for Next week. Yes, between February 13th and February 20th you’ll be able to party like it’s 1499.


Released in 2018, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a purely historical adventure that sees players exploring the Kingdom of Bohemia in the Holy Roman Empire. While the first-person action might make it look a little bit like an Elder Scrolls game, it couldn’t be more different.


Instead of playing as a mighty warrior that takes on dragons, vampires, and other mythical beasts, Kingdom Come puts you in the shoes of a fairly frail, lazy peasant that’s not actually all that handy with a blade. If I’ve made it sound bad, it really isn’t. The open world is gorgeous, combat is tense, and you even learn a thing or two about a thing or two.


I’ll admit it’s not to everyone’s tastes… but it’s being offered for free, so you have literally nothing to lose. Except maybe a few hours of your time, cos the start is fairly slow-going. Just give it a go, eh?


Kingdom Come: Deliverance In addition to the medieval mayhem of Kingdom Come you’ll also be able to get your hands on Aztez. Developed by Team Colorblind, Aztez is a delightful little title that blends classic beat ’em up gameplay with turn-based strategy. It shouldn’t work, but it does, and slowly expanding your empire across the map is a deeply rewarding process. Again, it’s free, you might as well give it a whirl, right?


But February 13th is a good few days away. Until then, you’ll be able to get both Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride from the Epic Games Store. Both are pretty fun adaptations of classic board games, and both are certainly worth a look if you’ve got nothing else on this weekend.


Carcassonne in particular adds a few fun twists to the original formula, and building up your empire in a Catan-style adventure is great fun. It’s also super accessible to those gamers who might not be all that into board games, so it’s definitely a good place to start if you’re looking to break into the genre.


Plenty of goodness to come from Epic over the Next few days then. Just make sure you get in and grab the freebies while you can.
