Chris Evans in the clear over sex assault claims
</p> Presenter Chris Evans has been cleared over claims he sexually assaulted a woman in the 90s. The former Top Gear presenter , from Warrington , was being investigated by police over allegations of a historic sexual assault. However, the Met have confirmed this afternoon that the case is no longer being pursued as there was â??insufficient evidence to proceed.â?* A Met police spokesperson said: â??An allegation of non-recent sexual assault was made to police on Monday, 23 May 16. The allegation was made by a woman against a man. It related to incidents in Tower Hamlets in the 1990s.
