</p> Liverpool has given birth to many celebrities, with many choosing the city to open their business ventures.

Stars including actresses, singers, footballers and even chefs all play a part in Liverpool and Wirral’s restaurant and bar culture.

Some business did not stand the test of time, however others appear to be thriving.

Having opened last year, The Viking is ran by a team which includes celebrity chef Simon Rimmer, who is originally from Wirral.

The pub prides itself on serving fresh food whilst also proving a family friendly atmosphere.

Before it officially opened last year the TV chef spoke to the ECHO to explain his excitement about the opening.

He said: “My family are still on the Wirral and I’m over here all the time, so to be opening here feels like coming home.

“I’ve seen this site in its various incarnations and it’s great to get my hands on it and make it into something that hopefully people will enjoy.”

Inside the restaurant is decorated in a Scandinavian style, representing Wirral’s Viking roots.

The Cafe Sports England

Cafe Sports England ,Stanley Street, Liverpool City Centre.
Rewind to almost four years ago, former Liverpool FC player Jamie Carragher owned two city centre restaurants.

The Cafe Sports England business, included a restaurant in Stanley Street and a cocktail bar Moments in Thomas Steers Way in Liverpool ONE.

However, in 2013 the businesses went bust after owing almost آ£1.2m.

Most of the debts were owed to the Flanagan Group, parent company of City Life Projects which owned the restaurants with Carragher.

The news came as a shock to fans who would often pack out both venues.

H Bar

H Bar, was a nightclub owned by Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton.

Located on Victoria Street, it was one of THE places to be seen for local celebs.

However in 2008 H Bar was threatened with closure by police following an incident which saw two Speke men stabbed.

The team behind the venue managed to get the decision over turned and saw the club stay open for another year before it closed for good in 2009.

Jelli Studios

Jelli Studios is the Dance school ran by Jennifer Ellison, who soared to fame when she starred in the Liverpool-based soap Brookside.

According to its website, the school provides elite intense Dance and Musical Theatre training for those wanting a long successful career in the professional industry.

Jennifer Ellison herself in a trained dancer, singer and actress.

The Vincent Cafe and Hotel

The Vincent Cafe & Cocktail Bar,Exchange Flags.
The team behind The Vincent brand first opened a hotel in Southport, before opening The Vincent Cafe and Cocktail bar on Exchange Flags in Liverpool’s city centre.

Paul Adams, is behind the restaurant and footballer Steven Gerrard is financially backing the business, which prides itself on all day dining with a difference.

The restaurant opened back in 2015, with the Liverpool footballer often pictured at the restaurant, which is popular with diners in the city.

Jamie Oliver who shot to fame as a teenager in the Naked Chef series back in the late 1990s opened his 11th â??Jamieâ??s Italianâ?? at Paradise Place in 2010.

At the time it was announced the 6,251 sq ft restaurant would focus on rustic Italian food.

Jamieâ??s Italian was founded by Jamie and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, in Oxford, 2008.

Since then it has grown to more than 60 restaurants worldwide.
