ISLAMABAD: An Earthquake of high intensity measuring 6.4 on Richter scale jolted Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab on Friday.
According to details, the tremors were felt in federal and provincial capitals of KP, Punjab, Malakand Chitral, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Sargodha, Chiniot and other areas at 4:39pm.
People of the areas rocked by the quake rushed out of their homes, offices and other buildings in panic reciting verses from Holy Quran.
However, no causality or property damages were reported from any area till the filing of this report.According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the epicentre of the Earthquake was the Hindu Kush in Afghanistan and it measured 210 kilometers deep.
