There is a new way to get fiber to the home (FTTH). Traditional methods of FTTH deployment are labor intensive in both splicing and construction. This labor intensive technique is being replaced by Plug and Play technology through MPO and MTP connectors. The drive for Plug and Play technology is a result from the huge increase in demand for bandwidth in the home, the need for more skilled splicers, and the constant need to cut costs to increase fiber providers revenue.
