ISLAMABAD: Police and security guard of a private bank Tuesday shot dead two robbers when they were trying to flee after looting a shop of weapon dealer and killing the shopkeeper, a police source said. He said three armed robbers entered a weapon shop at Koral area and tried to loot it. The owner of the shop was shot dead by robbers on his resistance. The robbers tried to flee in a car after taking the weapons from the shop. They met with a road accident during an attempt to flee. They snatched another car in front of a private bank and started shifting the looted weapons in it. During this period, a guard of a private bank and policemen patrolling there opened fire on them resulting the death of two robbers while one got injured. DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed and SP (Rural) Umer Khan along with police team rushed to the scene after the incident and collected evidence. They also briefed the media about it and appreciated the courage of the guard and policemen who also got injured in the incident.
