ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Saturday came down hard on the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry for submitting a resolution in the National Assembly for Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Imran Khan and termed that it “unfortunate’ while saying that at a time when the Country is facing the war threats the government is busy in seeking Nobel.“I failed to understand why the government is doing these things at a time when the nation is praying for coming out from the war threats and stand united to face any aggression,” said senior leader of the PPP and ex-opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah while reacting on the resolution submitted in the National Assembly Secretariat by information minister recommending for Nobel Peace Prize for Prime Minister Imran Khan.Syed Khursheed Shah said the opposition while putting their differences with the government aside due to the prevailing situation of the Country stood with the government on the matter of the national security. To a question, Syed Khursheed Shah said Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa briefed the parliamentary leaders of both the houses of parliament in an in-camera briefing but the prime minister did not attend such an important meeting on national security. “The opposition did not make an issue as when the Country is facing such a big issue then it is not proper to raise smaller issues,” he said. He said the opposition lead from the front in the joint sitting of parliament to convey the clear message to the enemy that the parliament is united but the prime minister whom the government wanted to nominate for Peace award has no courtesy to thank the opposition. “For us the people of Pakistan and the current prevailing security situation is more important rather than shaking hand with the prime minister,” he said. He said in such a testing times, the whole nation stood behind the armed forces of the Country to defend the motherland.Khursheed Shah said, “We have to tell through diplomatic and military channels that Pakistan is a peace-loving Country and wanted Peace in the region. “If the Peace is destabilised in the region then the world will also be affected,” he said. He said the international community should come forward to stop the Indian aggression against Pakistan.
