WHILL Type-A, an In**vative Mobility Device Raising Funds on Kickstarter Last year we wrote about a new Mobility Device (don’t call it a wheelchair!) that was designed to help people get around their homes and outdoors with greater ease and in a dashing style. The WHILL, developed in Tokyo, Japan, has In**vative front wheels made up of smaller individual wheels that allow for a 28″ turning radius. The same wheels, coupled with the power provided by the rear axle, permit the Device to travel over rough surfaces, including gravel and s**w.
To speed the commercialization of the WHILL, the developers just started a Kickstarter campaign to develop custom smartphone*software for the device. They hope this will provide interesting functionality, including being able to control the WHILL remotely, help find charging stations, and send out hardware diag**stic reports back to the manufacturer.
