This Star Wars Paradox Is Ripping the Marvel Cinematic Universe Apart

When Marvel introduced noted Star Wars fan Peter Parker into its Cinematic Universe, it also presented something of a hilarious Paradox in the billion dollar movie franchise. We’ve seen a few instances of Parker noting his Star Wars fandom, including in Spider-Man: Homecoming, when one side joke involves Ned’s Lego model of the Death Star. Which makes sense. He’s a high school nerd who’d obviously be into Star Wars like a ton of kids his age.

But, here’s the problem:

The trailers for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home show Parker and his buddy Ned meeting Nick Fury for the first time. However, what happens when they realize that Nick Fury looks a lot like Mace Windu from Star Wars?

If Star Wars exists as a fictional property in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then who plays Mace Windu in This property if not Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the Jedi Master in the prequel trilogy?

Fans have been trying to rectify This Paradox since the trailer introduced This brain buster. Some, in a new Reddit thread, have suggested that Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t exist in the MCU and Mace Windu is played by someone else. Some have also theorized that the prequel movies simply never happened in the MCU, which wouldn’t have been a total loss for them.

It’s a funny conversation, but it’s also not meaningless. The MCU has always prided itself in pretty impressive continuity. This is one minor annoyance that they could find some way to resolve. Maybe they show a photo of another actor as Mace Windu, or they clearly state that only three Star Wars movies were ever made.

Anyway, the nerds are waiting for you to figure it out, Disney. In the meantime, don’t introduce Thor’s ex-girlfriendâ??Padmأ© Amidalaâ??to poor Parker.
