افتراضي Cardiff Airport and Bristol Airport return to normal service after snow chaos

Cardiff and Bristol airports have resumed normal service following widespread disruption after snow hit the UK.

Snowfall on Thursday and Friday left many Welsh rugby fans scrambling for alternative transport to get to France for the Six Nations curtain-raiser against France after flights were grounded and Eurostar services were cancelled.

But the weekend promises better news for both jubilant fans flying home from Paris and also holidaymakers travelling to and from Cardiff and Bristol.

Arrivals and departures are scheduled to run on time from the airports on Saturday after heavy snow and ice grounded many services on Friday.

Flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport are currently running on time with a flight scheduled to arrive in Cardiff from Paris at 11.30am on Saturday while an EasyJet service is expected to arrive in Bristol Airport at 1.40pm, according to latest live flight information.

However the Eurostar service from London St Pancras to Paris Nord, departing at 11.31am, and a returning train departing at 4.01pm on Saturday, remain cancelled.

Two Wales legends had their travel plans for Friday’s match thrown into disarray:

Bristol Airport have said in a tweet that there may still be some delays this morning due to the de-icing of aircraft and passenger routes to aircraft.

Fans and pundits were not the only ones affected by the adverse weather conditions as Wales women’s rugby team were also caught up in the cancellations.

They were due to fly from Bristol on Friday afternoon ahead of their own opening Six Nations game against defending champions France in Montpellier at 8pm on Saturday but their flight was cancelled.

They are now flying from Heathrow to Toulouse on Saturday morning, meaning they will arrive just hours before their game.
