New InMotion ARM/HAND for Post Stroke Rehab Unveiled
![]() BIONIK Laboratories, a company based in Toronto, Canada, is releasing a new version of its InMotion ARM/HAND robotic system for Stroke Rehab training. The system is used for intensive motor therapy, consisting of two robots that work together to train*reaching and grasp & release movements at the same time. The user is asked to perform different movements with the arm and hands as they’re strapped into the robot. As the person does these, the system monitors the movements and the robot automatically helps out to make sure they’re completed properly. The brain works together with the muscles to learn these movements and to speed up rehabilitation.“The goal of our new generation InMotion ARM/HAND is to enable rehabilitation facilities to enhance their treatment programs for patients recovering from Stroke or other neurological injury who are ready to retrain reach and grasp functionality,” in a published statement said Dr. Eric Dusseux, CEO, BIONIK Laboratories. “Along with the improved reporting capabilities, we believe our innovative technology will enable clinicians to improve the patient rehabilitation process and achieve greater recovery for Stroke survivors.” Some of the new features of the new InMotion ARM/HAND, according to BIONIK Labs:
