Baghdad, May 27 (IANS/WAM) About 65,000 families have been displaced since the beginning of the ongoing military conflict in Anbar province in western Iraq, the Red Crescent Society has disclosed. Mohammad Al-khozai, assistant secretary-general of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society humanitarian organisation, said in a press statement that the number of families displaced since the beginning of the crisis in Anbar province was **w 65,000 families, the majority from Fallujah. He pointed out that the Iraqi Red Crescent was able to provide assistance to nearly 50,000 families from the beginning of the crisis.
