As title lost 2 elderly horses in 6 weeks one 31 and the other 26. Had them 21 years and 18 years and now I feel really quite flat and a little bit tearful. Every so often I feel quite sad about it all. Still have 2 horses both rideable and after the first one was pts took in a 14.2 arab x who was looking for a home owner elderly and unable to cope or afford he is rideable took mainly as a friend for the one elderly one left behind as he is 18 and a friendly soul.They had got on really well and now 6 weeks later the old boy is gone!. Slowly getting the new one integrated with the 2 left . The two I have left are unsettled were just getting used to being without the first horse when 6 weeks later the other oldie was pts.With the heat and the flies and everything being unsettled I have not been doing anything other than getting in grooming and taking care of them all.Also been caught up with hay making which we have just finished as well as helping a good neighbour with their hay making.Had back shoes off everything while I try to settle in the new boy but just don't feel like working anything .I've had horses pts before so its not a new thing and ones I have had for a long time it just seems to have knocked me down this time.Tell me it gets better.
