Once again, Chrissy Teigen manages to explain a Hilarious nuance of parenting in a way that makes moms everywhere look up from their phones and shout "I KNOW, RIGHT?!"
The mom of two hopped on Twitter yesterday with her latest parental observation:
only I can understand my kid. she's like "BDIDKDKODKDHJXUDHEJSLOSJDHDUSJMSOZUZUSJSIXOJ" and I'm like "ok I will get you a piece of sausage in just a minute"
Must be a parent thing bc when I'm with my cousins Toddler she's Babble nonsense at me and I'm like ??? And my cousin will be like "oh she wants you to grab her yellow toy" and I'm like "how??? Those weren't words"
My husband used to call it 'cloud speak' the language babies use to speak to each other while they're waiting up in the clouds to be born. His theory is as they get older they speak less 'cloud' & use other languages. Moms are always fluent in cloud. ً???
But it did lead to an intriguing question About toddler-speak:
I always find it weird that when you put two toddlers together, you never hear one of them say to the other "wait, what?" They all either understand each other perfectly or don't care at all what each other are saying.
Warning: you might have this "bilingual" ability to translate your preschooler's Babble now, but it won't last forever:
What's better is a few years later you are watching old videos thinking, "Wtf did they just say?" but then you hear yourself answer them perfectly and you mourn the loss of a whole language ً???
