RoboLeg from Robohand, a 3D Printed Leg Prosthesis
 Robohand, an organization that’s been developing 3D Printed prosthetic devices such as the Roboarm and Robofinger, has unveiled a prototype lower extremity*prosthesis called RoboLeg. The device is designed to be easy to manufacture and fit for each amputee’s unique anatomy, and to address the issue present in many unpowered prostheses that the user has to “kick” the foot out in order for it to swing forward. This issue has been a major impediment to wider adoption of leg prosthesis, causing pain, discomfort, and even hip displacements in some patients.The new device uses pneumatic components to connect the ankle to the foot and upper leg in order to control the motion of the device in a more natural manner. Robohand is asking folks to donate to the organization to continue the development of the RoboLeg and its other projects that may end up helping thousands of people around the world.
