Hi. We purchased a Saddle from a reputable master craftsman back in November. It was great (so I thought) because the first one he tried on my daughters new pony fit?!! I am by no means an expert in saddles, but tbh it looked too big, but thought it?s because it?s new, the leather will soften!. He advised me to ring him after she had ridden for 20hrs as it would need to be padded again (is the term re-flocked?). She had only done about 7hrs when my daughter was stopped during a showjumping comp as the Saddle was rising onto his shoulders. I contacted the saddler and he came out (after approx 5 weeks!) re-flocked it, and attached an extra girth strap, which solved that issue. My daughter was then stopped during her riding lesson and advised to use another Saddle (borrowed from school) as the Saddle was now badly tipping forward. We called him back and requested he bring a new Saddle as in my opinion, this one just didn?t fit, 4 weeks later he came and had another look, said that the Saddle was fine but we needed a new girth (pro lite). So, we bought the girth and we are still having issues - 6 months on - can anybody offer me any advice?? Paid £1400 for a Saddle we just can?t use. We have tried to contact him for 3 weeks and he will not return our calls. For my own piece of mind, I called another saddler to check it over and give me his opinion, apparently the saddles tree is buckled and does not fit the pony! Where do I go from here? think I?ve been more than patient, thanks for any advice.
