Monteris Medical (Plymouth, MN) is releasing its 3.0 Tesla-compatible AtamA Head coil and and neck Stabilization System that allows convenient MRI imaging during neurosurgeries. The device works as a both an MRI coil and a Head and neck Stabilization system. It is the only device of its kind that allows the patient to be moved between an operating table and MRI machine while keeping the Head completely secure.
Previously, the System was available for use in MRIs up to 1.5 Tesla.
From the product page:
The AtamA System Head Coil is a **vel design based on a standard split-array multichannel receive coil. It includes a Lower Coil and two interchangeable Upper Coils, and the appropriate coil configuration data for the selected MR System to be used.
The Standard Upper Coil provides an opening to accommodate any surgical access trajectories extending from the top of the head.
The Extended Upper Coil provides an opening to accommodate any trajectories extending at an angle away from the top of the Head
The design of the two-part Head Coil subsystem when used with the rest of the AtamA System allows surgical access to essentially any supratentorial aspect of the patient’s head, and allows the collection of MR data without repositioning the patient or moving the coils within the MR system.
