ISLAMABAD: A famous American surgeon and founder of Laparoscopic Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB) operation which treats and cures diabetes and obesity will demonstrate metabolic surgery at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Saturday (today).
Prof Dr Robert Rutledge is in the town on the invitation of PIMS surgeon Dr Aatif Inam Shami, who regularly performs weight loss and metabolic surgery at the hospital.
*Shami told The News that the guest surgeon will train more than 30 surgeons from all over Pakistan.
The participants will get certified as Bronze Certification for surgeon of Excellence by MGB Review Corp provided they pass this course. Dr Rutledge will be doing 30 such courses all over the world this year.
