NAB chief orders complaint verification against Kh Asif, Dar
ISLAMABAD: the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, ordered complaint verification against Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif allegedly on a complaint of money laundering.
In an announcement on Wednesday, NAB has made it clear that the complaints are being verified on receiving the complaints against the accused regarding alleged allegations of corruption, which are yet to prove. NAB will provide an ample opportunity to the Foreign minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, for presenting his point of view, and, after that if needed, legal proceedings will only be taken against him as per law. Meanwhile, the NAB chairman also ordered the complaint verification against National Highway Authority (NHA) for alleged irregularities to the tune of billions of rupees in award of contract for Multan-Sukkur Motorway by NHA and alleged corruption. The NAB chairman also ordered complaint verification against a Punjab MPA from Gujranwala, Sohail Zafar, for having assets beyond known sources of income. The NAB chairman ordered complaint verification against former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Usman Saifullah, Member Policy Board, Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for their alleged illegalities in SECP appointments. It (NAB) has made it clear that the complaints are being verified on receiving complaints against the accused regarding alleged allegations of corruption, which are yet to be proved. The NAB will provide an ample opportunity to all concerned for presenting their point of view, and, after that if needed, legal proceedings will only be taken against the accused persons as per law.Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi NAB has started an inquiry against The Bank of Punjab authorities on the direction of NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal for misuse of authority and loss caused to the national exchequer in manipulation of shares.
