LAHORE: PML-N central leader Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said democracy was linked with strong institutions and all predictions about wrapping up of democratic system had proven wrong after the successful Senate elections process.
He said the Resistance shown by democratic forces in their defence had strengthened democracy.
Flanked by newly-elected Senator Musadik Malik outside the Punjab Assembly, Pervaiz said that just like the Senate polls, people would also bring forth a change through ballot. He said the parties, which were claiming to be Sadiq and Ameen, had been rejected by the people?s representatives and victory of the PML-N-backed candidates showed that the PML-N and the party Quaid, Nawaz, were the Sadiq and Ameen.To a question, he said the PML-N had bagged all votes on the basis of its numerical strength in assemblies and PTI candidate Chaudhry Sarwar should explain how he was able to get votes despite being short of numbers. He also said that Sarwar should tell nation through which ATM he secured more votes than his party had.
