Hello everyone! Sorry if this is a bit of a silly questions but I've been wondering how do you actually look at an ad for a loan Horse and say 'that Horse seems like it could work'? I'm really struggling at finding loan horses at the moment (there aren't really any where I live) so the minute I find something that even vaguely works with my ability to make days/that doesn't look overly dangerous, I'm interested. However, I'm also aware that I'm really not the world's best rider and it's led me to wonder what the boundary is between 'well-schooled Horse that will teach you' and 'so good you will ruin the Horse by riding it'. For example, I've only been taught about getting an outline a couple times in my life - would this mean that a good dressage Horse is out of the question (for fear of damaging it - obviously, I don't want to undo the owner's hard work)? And then, when you do try out a horse, will people get the wrong impression if, afterwards, you say that the Horse really just wasn't the type Horse that you can ride well? Or is it more of a thing where you just need to learn to ride the Horse and get on with it? Many apologises for how long this is (it's a bit of a ramble) but apparently the world of loaning/sharing is a lot more complex than I thought it was and I'm a bit stuck!
