KARACHI: Chairman of Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has given a challenge to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan to contest and win election from Karachi, claiming that instead of them, the people of Karachi would only vote in favour of PPP. The PPP chairman gave this electoral challenge to his political opponents while talking to newsmen on Wednesday as he visited a camp of his party in the city for conducting membership drive. The PPP chairman said on the occasion that Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) had elected a controversial personality as the new president of the party. He said that Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif (now made acting president of PML-N) had to be made answerable in cases of killings at Model Town, Multan Metro bus project, and Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal. He said the Punjab government had targeted innocent people in the Model Town incident as PML-N should not have made any controversial person as the new head of the party.
He said that public had no interest as for what cause former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been expelled from power. The PPP chairman said that ?Memogate? was a false case as Nawaz Sharif had been trying to revive the case just to divert the public attention away from the Panama case. ?Everyone knows that Memogate was a false case,? he said.He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had been providing assistance to the Taliban through the Auqaf funds as this would cause terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed that the next prime minister, foreign minister, and provincial chief ministers in the country would belong to PPP. He claimed that the PPP was the only eligible political party capable of resolving the issues of public. ?We would make this country prosperous and peaceful,? he said. He said that public wanted an end to unemployment, price-hike and terrorism in the country. He said that unemployment, poverty, and terrorism were the real issues of public as only the People's Party could resolve these issues. He directed leaders and activists of the party to gear up for the next general elections on full-fledged basis saying that the message of People's Party should be spread out to all corners of the country.
