Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Navi Mumbai international airport and laid the foundation stone for a second airport in Mumbai. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that this is one of the serveral projects which were left pending for many years. He hit out at the previous governments stating that the idea to develop Navi Mumbai airport was formulated in 1997 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee but it never went beyond that. At the same event, PM Modi dedicated to the nation the fourth container terminal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPT).
