I already did a search on this but a lot of the posts were very old so wanted to see if there?s any more up to date info / productsI recently moved to a yard with all year turnout. Hooray! Obviously with the weather we have had, the fields are very muddy and my boy has now developed mud feverI actually only noticed it because his legs were swelling which is out of character for him. I couldn?t really feel any scabs. Today I hosed his legs after he was in the arena so that I could apply pig oil (once dry). When his legs were wet I noticed his front legs had pink skin and some scabs at the back of his heels. I plastered them in sudocreme. His back legs are the most swollen but no real visible scabs and can?t really feel any either. I applied pig oil tonight. What?s my next best step? He?s going back out tomorrow, hopefully protected by the sudocreme on his front legs, and pig oil on the back. I?d like to clear it up and prevent it though so that?s the advice I am seeking. Any tips / experiences would be welcomed! Thank you!
