National Institute of Standards and Technology Releases Stem Cell Tracking App Popularizing Stem Cell therapies will require the systematic, consistent production of billions of cells and carefully monitoring their production to prevent unintended side effects. Even now, growing and differentiating groups of cells for lab experiments is a process requiring close quality control. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recognized the need for a Technology that can keep an eye on very many cells closely and over an extended period of time.
The NIST is now releasing its*Web Image Processing Pipeline (WIPP), a new Cell mapping application that creates a way to easily analyze thousands of cells as they grow and from different perspectives.
