People rejected Imran for following dynastic politics: Khursheed

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said that Imran Khan had followed the politics of heredity in Lodhran elections and the masses rejected him.
He expressed these views while talking to the newsmen at his chamber at the Parliament House on Tuesday.
To a question about the defeat of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Lodhran, Khursheed Shah said the People had given their verdict through votes. He said Imran had always opined against the politics of heredity but he followed the politics of heredity so People had reacted against him. ?It was public mood and public decided that it was not PTI seats,? he said.
Asked whether Imran needs the new direction in the politics as the general elections were also coming nearer, the opposition leader said the new ways would open in the politics after the general elections.
To another question with regard to MQM-Pakistan allegation about horse trading in Senate elections, Khursheed Shah rejected the allegations of the horse trading in the Senate elections in Sindh, saying that the PPP has nothing to do with the horse trading. ?Intra-Party wrangling was going in MQM-P and they are making allegations against PPP. The internal fighting was going in MQM-P for the money,? he said. The Opposition leader said the bigwigs in the MQM were in contact with the PPP as they knew that only PPP have a solution of the problems of the Karachi.
Khursheed Shah comes into action for the hunt of the name for the caretaker prime minister and sought the names from the public for the person who be the next caretaker prime minister for the interim period for holding the upcoming general elections, which is scheduled to be held by the mid of July, this year.
?The consultation process for hunting the name of caretaker prime minister has not started with the prime minister but it should have been started as only three months remaining for the completion of the tenure of the incumbent government,? he said.
The opposition leader said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi did not make any contact with him on this important issue but it is a constitutional task to appoint a caretaker prime minister prior to general elections. ?The constitution has maintained the powers of the caretaker prime minister to run the government affairs on day to day basis,? he said.He said it will be the joint responsibility of the government and opposition to give a such name for the prime minister who would be acceptable for everyone and that was a reason that People should also propose the name for the caretaker government so that when the consultation process be started those name should also be considered.
