I'd always intended to leave them together until eight months, which I have, and Mary seemed to have naturally weaned her already, so I decided it was time to take that final step. Mary seemed to feel the same. She walked away without a backwards glance whilst Flower called, and integrated straight back in with the rest of our herd. She's barely looked in Flower's direction since, even though part of their fields adjoin so they can still see each other over the fence if they want to. Six and Flower weren't as happy. Both of them have spent a fair while calling to her, and Flower is feeling a little sorry for herself. Despite that, she doesn't seem too frantic, so I'm sure she'll bounce back from it pretty quickly.
