BAKU: Azeri opposition party Musavat will not participate in a presidential election scheduled for April 11, party head Arif Hajili said on Saturday. Musavat is one of two major opposition forces in Azerbaijan.
The other, the National Council of Democratic Forces, said on Tuesday it would also boycott the election.On Monday, the office of President Ilham Aliev issued a decree bringing forward the date of the election, which had previously been scheduled for Oct. 17.
