With spring around the corner, I want to start preparing for the year ahead, specifically by getting some plans in place for this pair. Image: https://i.imgur.com/PzD600w.jpg I'm a firm believer that babies should have the chance to be babies, but at the same time, I'm fully aware that Flower is getting bigger and more powerful by the day, so I do want to have the basics in place. With that in mind, I've ordered Foal to Five Years, and am hoping it will have some handy tips inside. If anyone knows of anything similar, recommendations would be much appreciated! I'm also wondering if anyone has any good groundwork books that they would recommend? Mary will be the first horse that I've brought back into work after a prolonged period off, and seeing as she was only just being ridden away before taking time out, I want to go back to basics with her. She also Could do with building some topline before we start anything too strenuous, and I think it might be an idea to begin that process out of the saddle rather than in it. So, if anyone knows of anything helpful, either online or off-, feel free to fire away with some suggestions! :)
