I have two eight-month-old New Forest foals, Billy and Kit.They have 24-hour turnout with access to a stable for flat-out snoozes, which they take advantage of, often. However, with all the rain our paddocks are getting really boggy and waterlogged and I have upped my hay supplementation. They used to have two stuffed nets to go back to if they wanted, but I've recently been trying out one of those Haygain bins due to a lot of wasted hay, which they have a lovely time playing with. They also have a big net to supplement that at the moment. They do graze during the day but I've noticed, since the waterlogging, that there have been some chew marks on my fences and my gate. I think they are Bored as they're not grazing quite as much as they used to.They live at home and are visited often throughout the day. I also do some training work with them throughout the week. Does anyone have any good tips for field toys, or stimulation for them that they might enjoy? And also some tips to stop the chewing before it becomes a long-term behaviour?Thank you in advance.
