HANGU: Rejecting the monthly stipend announced by the KP government, religious scholars on Tuesday alleged that the government wanted to create a rift between the people and clerics. The announcement was made at a meeting held here. Member Provincial Assembly and JUI-F leader Mufti Said Janan chaired the meeting. The scholars claimed that billions of rupees had been spent during the Musharraf era for "reforming" seminaries. They vowed to foil conspiracy of secular forces this time too. They said the PTI government had become a tool for the anti-Islam forces to discredit the religious scholars.
