Hi all. I was hoping some of you could offer me some advice. I am planning to do my UKCC level 1 this year. Something I have been planning to do for years but have never got round to it. There is a course starting my area in February so it seems like the perfect time to get started. I was filling out my registration form for it and noticed the entry requirements bit. Now I am doing this to learn to teach, I haven't been teaching previous to this and I assumed this would be standard. I certainly wouldn't want someone unqualified teaching me. Has anyone done the course? What was your experience prior to the course? I used to be a pro groom on event yards. I have competeted to intermediate level eventing myself and have given lessons to family and friends. I have helped out at pony club and have shadowed a UKCC 3 coach. I did work in a riding school in my teens and took some lessons under supervision for an instructor but that was over 10 years ago! I assumed this would be enough to be able to do the course but not sure if it's the specific coaching experience that they are looking for. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
