LAHORE: Railways Minister Kh Saad Rafique Said on Thursday he did not give any irresponsible statement regarding the army. It was presented out of context by certain TV channels, he claimed.

The senior PML-N leader?s statement comes after ISPR's Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor termed the railways minister?s statement regarding the army irresponsible.

Saad Said the DG ISPR was a sincere individual and he was saddened by Major Gen Asif Ghafoor?s statement. He further stated that it was not appropriate that out of 27-minute-long speech, only a few words were picked and played up as he had never adopted an irresponsible or unconstitutional stance.

He also Said he had never targeted the army?s discipline and could neither think of doing so. If we have complaints, we either absorb them or discreetly inform the relevant authority, he added. Elaborating, the PML-N leader Said those creating misunderstandings between the state institutions are doing a disservice to the nation. Later in the evening, Saad Rafique flew to Saudi Arabia along with his family.
